Bareilly: A meeting of the Road Safety Committee was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Bareilly under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate (City) Saurabh Dubey.
Focus on Safety Around Schools
During the meeting, the ADM directed officials to ensure the construction of speed breakers near schools and to coordinate with school authorities for the installation of CCTV cameras. Emphasis was also laid on raising awareness among parents and school management to ensure the safe movement of children.
Strict instructions were issued that no school vehicle lacking a valid fitness certificate or failing to meet prescribed standards should be allowed to operate on roads.
Awareness Measures and Infrastructure
Officials were directed to install road safety signboards, hoardings, and banners near petrol pumps, roadside eateries, and toll plazas to enhance public awareness. It was also informed that reflectors are being installed on heavy vehicles and tractor-trolleys to improve visibility during night hours and reduce accident risks.

Call for Collective Responsibility
Saurabh Dubey stressed that along with preventing road accidents, efforts should also be made to raise awareness about child safety within households. He highlighted that effective road safety can only be achieved through collective efforts and active public participation.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Bhagat Singh, officials from the Transport Department, and other concerned authorities.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening road safety measures and minimizing accidents across the district.
